By using MySpendJournal, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old or otherwise legally permitted to use the Service under applicable law.

You agree to comply with these Terms and all applicable laws, regulations, payment provider rules, app store requirements, and platform requirements.

2. Changes to These Terms

We may update or modify these Terms at any time. When updates are made, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use of the Service after updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

3. Your Account

Account Responsibilities

To access certain features, you may be required to create an account. You agree to:

MySpendJournal is a budgeting, transaction tracking, savings planning, reminder, and financial organization tool only.

The Service does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, legal, credit repair, debt settlement, or professional advice.

Starter budgets, spending limits, savings goals, budget categories, alerts, charts, analytics, and other information generated by the Service are estimates and organizational tools only.

Any financial decisions you make based on information entered into or generated by the Service are made solely at your own risk. You should consult a qualified professional before making financial, tax, legal, investment, or debt-related decisions.

5. Data Accuracy, Imports, and User Review

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of information entered into the Service.

MySpendJournal may allow users to upload or process:

• CSV files
• PDF bank statements
• Receipts
• Transaction exports
• Other user-provided financial records

Automated transaction imports, PDF parsing, CSV parsing, categorization, duplicate detection, merchant matching, savings goal creation, starter budget generation, recurring transaction creation, spending limit suggestions, or financial parsing features may contain errors, inaccuracies, duplicates, omissions, or incomplete information.

Users are responsible for reviewing imported, suggested, automatically generated, or automatically processed data for accuracy before relying on it.

Starter Budget and Savings Planning Features

MySpendJournal may provide starter budget recommendations, suggested spending limits, suggested recurring transactions, savings goal recommendations, budget category allocations, and savings allocations based on information provided by the user, including income, household size, housing status, location information, and selected financial priorities.

These recommendations are generated automatically and are intended for informational and organizational purposes only. Users are solely responsible for reviewing, modifying, accepting, rejecting, or deleting any suggested budgets, savings goals, transactions, spending limits, or financial plans before use.

If you choose to apply a starter budget, MySpendJournal may create spending limits, savings goals, income transactions, expense transactions, and recurring transaction schedules based on your selected settings. You remain responsible for reviewing and maintaining those items.

6. Subscription Plans, Free Trials, and Billing

Certain features of the Service may require a paid subscription. MySpendJournal may offer a free plan, premium subscriptions, limited-time free trials, promotional offers, or app store-based subscriptions.

Trial lengths, subscription pricing, available features, billing periods, and plan offerings may change at any time. Current subscription pricing and trial terms are displayed within the Service or applicable app store at the time of signup or purchase.

Free Trials

MySpendJournal may offer free trial periods for premium features. At the end of the trial period, access may downgrade to the free plan unless you start or maintain a paid subscription.

Trial availability, duration, eligibility, and included features may vary and may be modified or discontinued at any time.

Recurring Billing

Paid subscriptions may renew automatically on a recurring basis unless canceled before the renewal date in accordance with the applicable payment provider or app store rules.

By starting a paid subscription, you authorize recurring charges according to the selected billing cycle until canceled.

Payment Processing

Payments may be processed through third-party providers such as:

• PayPal
• Google Play
• Amazon Appstore
• Microsoft Store
• Other payment processors or app platforms

Billing disputes, refunds, chargebacks, cancellations, and renewal rules may also be subject to the policies of those third-party providers. MySpendJournal does not control third-party payment systems.

7. Alerts, Notifications, and Calendar Features

MySpendJournal may offer email alerts, push notifications, weekly recap emails, reminder features, Google Calendar synchronization, and calendar export features.

Alerts and notifications are provided as a convenience only. We do not guarantee that any reminder, email, push notification, calendar event, or alert will be delivered, received, accurate, timely, or uninterrupted.

You remain responsible for tracking your financial obligations, due dates, payments, bills, subscriptions, and other commitments. MySpendJournal is not responsible for missed payments, late fees, overdrafts, penalties, financial losses, or other consequences resulting from missed, delayed, inaccurate, or undelivered alerts.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful purposes
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts
• Upload malicious software, harmful files, or unsafe content
• Interfere with the operation, reliability, or security of the Service
• Use automated scraping, abusive requests, or excessive system activity
• Impersonate another person or organization
• Upload content that violates intellectual property rights
• Use the Service to commit fraud, harassment, abuse, or deception
• Attempt to bypass subscription restrictions or access controls

9. User Content and Uploaded Files

Users retain ownership of the content, documents, financial records, transaction data, savings goals, budgets, and other information they upload, enter, or create within the Service.

By uploading, entering, or creating content, you grant MySpendJournal a limited license to process, store, display, organize, analyze, and use that content solely for providing, maintaining, securing, and improving the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to upload and use any files, content, or financial information submitted to the Service.

10. Gamification, Rewards, and Promotional Features

MySpendJournal may offer optional engagement systems such as:

• Coins
• Rewards
• Streaks
• Achievements
• Badges
• Leaderboards
• Prize entries
• Promotional incentives

These features are provided for entertainment, motivation, and engagement purposes only.

Coins, rewards, badges, streaks, achievements, leaderboard rankings, prize entries, and similar virtual items have no cash value, are not property, are not transferable, and may be modified, reset, limited, suspended, or removed at any time.

Prize programs, contests, giveaways, or promotional rewards may be subject to additional eligibility requirements, separate rules, geographic restrictions, availability limits, and legal requirements.

11. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, branding, design, logos, graphics, text, icons, images, layouts, features, and functionality, is the property of MySpendJournal or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, copy, sell, rent, sublicense, or exploit the Service without prior written permission.

12. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with or contain links to third-party services, including payment providers, analytics services, hosting providers, email providers, push notification services, app stores, Firebase services, Google Calendar, and other external platforms.

We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, availability, accuracy, reliability, security, or policies of third-party services.

Your use of third-party services may be governed by separate terms, privacy policies, and provider requirements.

13. App Stores, PWA, and Platform Availability

MySpendJournal may be available through web browsers, installed PWA experiences, mobile devices, Microsoft Store, Google Play, Amazon Appstore, or other distribution platforms.

Features, availability, installation behavior, subscriptions, notifications, and payment options may vary by device, browser, operating system, app store, or platform.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be available or function on every device, browser, app store, or operating system version.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.

MySpendJournal makes no guarantees regarding:

• Availability or uptime
• Accuracy of imported, suggested, or processed financial data
• Accuracy of budgets, charts, savings goals, spending limits, or analytics
• Error-free operation
• Security or uninterrupted access
• Compatibility with all devices, browsers, app stores, or platforms
• Delivery of emails, push notifications, alerts, or calendar events
• Results from using the Service

Use of the Service is at your own risk.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MySpendJournal and its affiliates shall not be liable for:

• Financial losses
• Missed payments, late fees, overdrafts, or budgeting errors
• Errors in imported, parsed, suggested, or automatically generated data
• Incorrect savings goals, spending limits, alerts, or analytics
• Data loss
• Service interruptions
• Security incidents beyond our reasonable control
• Third-party service failures
• Indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, goodwill, data, or opportunities

Your use of the Service is entirely at your own risk and discretion.

16. Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, create security risk, fail to maintain required subscription access, or violate applicable laws.

Reasons for termination may include:

• Fraudulent activity
• Abusive behavior
• Security threats

• Repeated Terms violations
• Unauthorized access attempts
• Misuse of imports, payments, notifications, or reward systems

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
